The folks at Van’s Natural Foods sent me a coupon to try their whole-grain waffles free. I wondered where I could find them, but it turns out that a lot of different stores sell them. I purchased mine from Whole Foods.
I tried the whole-grain waffles, though the coupon is good for a free package of either waffles, pancakes or french toast sticks.
And I liked these waffles a lot . They were crispy and delicious. I heartily recommend them. (They are nutritious, too, superior to other waffles on the market.)
Here’s more info, straight from the public relations department:
“Van’s Natural Foods, a frozen breakfast company that only uses natural, minimally-processed, good for you ingredients, has just introduced a new line of Lite waffles. With just 70 calories per waffle, 6 grams of fiber per serving and honey-sweetened taste, they make for a delicious and healthy start to any day!
These waffles are just what the doctor would order, as they are free of high-fructose corn syrup and are sweetened with honey and pure cane sugar. They are made with a mix of whole grains, using both traditional and exotic ingredients including: whole wheat, oat, barley, brown rice, dark rye, quinoa, amaranth and millet flours. When compared to the typical frozen waffles we’ve all grown accustomed to, this blend really makes for a unique texture and has a much more “grown-up” taste.”
