Blogging : How to start a new blog ?

For quiet some time I was thinking of writing a post on how to start a new blog . Let me tell you first , that I am no " blogging expert " and there are way bigger blogs with shiny stats out there ! I have been blogging here  since 2009 and so being said that I know a " little something " about blogging from my personal experience .

My first blog was my book blog that I started on 2008 . " Book With a Cup of Coffee" . This blog is still up and running and stritly a book review blog . Then from 2009 I" started this blog " Mon Cheri " which initially was a personal blog and eventually turned into a product review blog , which I throughly enjoy doing and writing . This year I have decided to take this blog further by adding coupons and deals , talking about parenting , healthy living , blogging etc. and ofcourse my passion for reviwing products is going to stay .

Before you start a new blog you need to determine what type of blog you are going to create . You can always change your course later if you decide to do something else with it but it's always good to have a topic or few (2 -3) topics in your mind before starting and always choose topics  you are comfortable to talk about publicly ! You don't have to be an expert on your topics but you should be comfortable enough to have discussion on your blog . It's very important to have readers , if your blog doesn't have any direction, readers won't come back.

You can create many types of blogs . Sky is the limit here . Blog themes can include :

couponing and deals , product reviews and giveaways (you can choose what or which kind you want to review and talk about) , personal, mommy blog , parenting , cooking , sewing , crafting , frugal living , lifestyle, decorating ...you get the picture .

Try to find out what you really like to do yourself or with your family and turn that into your blog. If you have multiple passions and hobbies and if you have time you can even go for 2 -3 blogs , you don't have to limit yourself to one .

And while writing your post from the very first post , be true to yourself . Don't write to post something that you don't believe in . Trust me, your readers will know.
